South NZ and Big Peter Jackson Overcome in Canberra

Canberra have overcome South New Zealand to move to a Semi Final against Newcastle next week.

The match in Canberra was hindered by a thick blanket of smoke caused by a major chemical fire nearby, which threatened to cause a match delay. However ARTTSL officials decided at the last minute to go ahead, despite protests from South New Zealand, after their mascot The Big Peter Jackson was overcome by fumes and had to be rushed to hospital.

The match went ahead with both sides looking evenly poised, or if anything South New Zealand slightly on top, at 5-all at half time. However South New Zealand, like their mascot, collapsed, losing four of their next five serves to ultimately lose 11-6.

Tomorrow sees the second Quarter Final, with Singapore travelling to the Gold Coast, the winner of which will play Sydney in the second Semi Final.

Thanks for all your messages of support. I'm fine. Should be flying home tomorrow. Now the RTT season's over I might get some movie-making done!
